This was the first of my floorcloths
inspired by Springfield,
Massachusetts, the
city where I worked for almost 30 years.
Springfield was known as “The City of Homes,”
and fortunately many of its splendid mansions still exist, some of them
beautifully refurbished
by a new generation of urban pioneers. I got to visit many of them while I
was a reporter writing for the Home pages, and was dazzled by the opulence
in which past residents lived. No home is complete without a pet, but notice
that none of the cats in this picture are on the street. City streets are no
place for cats.
$500 (includes shipping and handling except for
orders outside the continental United States).
