Patricia Cahill - Floorcloths, Murals, and Painted Furniture

Patricia has been making floorcloths and painting furniture ever since she discovered acrylics 12 years ago. Her paintings are influenced by the living things in her abundant garden, by the late-Victorian architecture of the New England city where she worked for many years, and by her love of visual and verbal puns. She especially enjoys bringing to life an idea presented to her by a client.

People are sometimes shocked at the idea of walking on her paintings, but she has had the same floorcloths at the entrance of her home for over 10 years. The colorful "carpets" come with a protective coating.

Pat was born in Italy, earned her Ph.D. in English literature at the University of Massachusetts, and was a writer for the Springfield Newspapers for 24 years. Several of her poems have been published in poetry journals.

Nancy Cahill - Wedding Invitations and Inspirational Gifts

Nancy, a longtime Unitarian Universalist, combines her love of the literature and gentle lessons of the Christian Bible with her passion for computer technology to create free-hand illuminations of favorite Bible verses. Her works, which include wedding invitations, life-event announcements, and other gifts, are custom-designed for each client. She uses Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe PhotoShop to create her one-of-a-kind inspirational designs. Each piece is completely hand-drawn and never contains clip art.

Like older sister Pat, Nancy was born in Italy.  She graduated from George Washington University with a degree in theatre arts and lives in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC with her three dogs and five cats. A political activist,  Nancy works to further the progressive agenda when she isn't creating art.
